DURAN® GLS 80® Laboratory Bottle, baffled, wide mouth, clear
with GLS 80® thread, graduated
- Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3, Polypropylene
- More effective mixing due to three moulded-in, vertical baffles
- Flat inner base compatible with magnetic stir bars, or the DURAN® GLS 80® magnetic stirrer cap system
- The baffles form a continuous, smooth inner surface making clean up easy
- Easy access to the bottle contents due to the wide diameter of the bottle neck
- Optimum filling and pouring and particularly easy cleaning
- Special thread design for rapid opening and closing in less than a turn
- Stability due to the large base area
- Easy-to-read scale with graduation marks to estimate the content

Product Overview
During mixing in standard GLS 80® laboratory bottles, the liquid moves in a swirling motion that approximates a solid-body rotation. The entire fluid, and any suspended particles, moves like a carousel. This is a very inefficient flow pattern, and very little mixing actually occurs. By adding three vertical baffles into the inner surface of the GLS 80® bottles, the swirling motion is disrupted, and a much more effective mixing occurs. The baffles improve the top-to-bottom circulation and produce a greater radial mixing. The baffles also offer other advantages such as suppressing the formation of a central vortex, and reducing dead-zones where mixing does not occur. Suitable for use with magnetic stir bars up to 50 mm long.
