Evaporating flasks are a variant of round flasks and have a florentine pear shape. The standard ground joint allows a precise connection to other ground joint components and they are ideal for use with rotary evaporators. Due to their shape, evaporating flasks allow a large uniform liquid surface area, making them particularly suitable for the rapid evaporation of solvents.

Borosilicate glass 3.3 has a linear coefficient of expansion of 3.3 Ć 10ā6 Kā1 at 20 °C. It also conforms to the requirements of a USP/EP/JP Type 1 neutral glass suitable for use by the pharmaceutical industry. The properties of DURANĀ® are specified to ISO 3585 and ASTM-E438 Type 1 Class A. |
